The Sky Club network is being modernized by Delta Air Lines.

The Atlanta-based carrier opened four stunning lounges, including its two largest in New York's LaGuardia Airport and Los Angeles International Airport, as well as its only international club in Tokyo's Haneda Airport.

Delta isn't taking it easy. There will be eight new and expanded spaces nationwide in the year 2023.

The latest information is here.

Kansas City, Missouri, has been working on a new terminal for a long time. The new terminal is on track to open early next year after a recent tour by the company.

Delta's Sky Club will be the only airline lounge in the space at the beginning. There are two Sky Decks in the 11,000 square foot lounge.

Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP)

The opening is expected to take place in April.

Delta is opening a new club in Minneapolis. Next year, Paul will be around. It will be larger than the existing F/G concourse club and will have 450 seats. The Sky Deck is protected from the cold weather during the winter, as well as the tarmac and runway views.

John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK)

June23 is the estimated opening.

Delta plans to consolidate its operations at JFK in Terminal 4 next year, just as Terminal 2 is scheduled to be dismantled. There will be a second Sky Club in Terminal 4, but it will be at the A gates. It will have seating for over 200 people. The announcement didn't include any other amenities.

The Sky Club Express concept, which was first introduced in Boston this year, will be opening in Terminal 4 at Delta's New York hub. The temporary space will be open until the new club opens.

The lounge for business-class passengers at JFK is expected to open in 2024.

The main Sky Club in Terminal A was completed earlier this year. As part of Delta's growth in Boston, the airline expanded its international operations to the airport's Terminal E, and now connecting passengers can take a bus between the A gate and E gate to simplify the transit experience.

Delta opened its first Sky Club Express in Boston to accommodate premium travelers departing from Terminal E, and will open a permanent lounge in that terminal next year. Over 400 people will be accommodated in the space.

Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR)

The opening is expected to take place in the fall and winter of23.

Newark is getting a big boost with the opening of the new terminal. The new terminal will be home to American, Air Canada, JetBlue and United. Some flights will leave from Terminal A.

After the second phase of construction is done, Delta will open a brand-new Sky Club in the new terminal at that time.

The lounge space on the upper level will be shared by Delta and the American Admirals Club.

3 expanded Sky Clubs

The new club opened in June of 2021. The lounge has a large selection of food. The new Sky Club has 180 guests and is 8,000 square feet larger than the old one. Delta plans to add 90 seats to the existing footprint of the lounge by expanding it by 2,200 square feet.

Miami International Airport (MIA)

The opening is expected to take place in December.

Miami is turning into a gateway hub for Delta because of the recent approval of the Delta and LATAM joint venture.

The existing Miami Sky Club is in Concourse H and will be expanded late next year to accommodate a total of 320 flyers.

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL)

The opening is expected to take place in the winter of23.

The club in Atlanta will be renovated by Delta. New self-service check-in kiosks and an expanded food and beverage station will be added there. The club will expand to over 18,000 square feet and hold 353 travelers.

During peak afternoon and evening departure banks, this has been one of Delta's busiest clubs in Atlanta.

Delta plans to build a brand-new Sky Club for Concourse D in Atlanta, but there's been no official word from the carrier.

Bottom line

Delta is doing more to expand its lounge network than any other US airline. The airline's lounges are among the nicer in the US, and it's great to see a big investment from the carrier.

As the airline has been suffering from some severe overcrowding, these larger spaces can't come quickly enough. The lounge access policy is being changed in order to alleviate some of the lines and crowds we have seen at Sky Clubs nationwide.

With the recent access policy changes, using an eligible American Express card to access the Sky Club is now more lucrative than ever.
