Long-term support is something that OnePlus is committed to. Four years of OxygenOS updates are promised by the Oppo brand. Five years of security patches will be given to them. The company hasn't named any devices, but it's likely that the company will prioritize high-end phones.

OxygenOS 13.1 will be released in the first half of 2023. The new software will include a revised always-on display, a second-gen private data space, and a new design language.

Four years of security fixes for flagship phones is comparable to the five years of security fixes promised bySamsung. New versions of the security updates are only guaranteed for three years. Critical security fixes for older models are sometimes released by Apple.

If you want to have the latest software features on your phone, the pledge may be worth considering. It's not unusual for other brands to offer fewer updates, and it's also not uncommon for them to initially plan just one update for the Edge line. If you can only afford a budget model, you won't be able to expect longevity across the range.
