According to a Tuesday NBC News report, some of Donald Trump's advisers claim that he was tricked into hosting a white supremacist at Mar-a-Lago by rapper Ye.

According to sources close to Trump, Ye helped stage the meeting to cause the ex-president to be criticized shortly after he launched his own campaign.

Sources with knowledge of the discussions told NBC News that the Trump campaign is looking at their processes to make sure someone doesn't get close to him again. It was reported that Trump was angry that Ye had attacked him.

He tried to hit me. The man is crazy. "He can't beat me," Trump was quoted as saying.

That source said that Trump was completely out of the loop. It was a setup, that's what I said.

One of Trump's advisers told NBC News that the master troll was trolled. Kanye punked Trump.

Since news of the November 22 meeting broke, prominent lawmakers in both major parties have condemned Trump for meeting with a white supremacist. Trump claimed that he didn't invite him to Mar-a-Lago but that he had brought him with him.

NBC News reported that Ye showed up to Mar-a-Lago with other people, including a man who was the parent of a student at Donda Academy.

Giorno told NBC News that she tried to have Ye meet with Trump on his own. According to NBC News, Trump deferred to Ye, who wanted the group to eat together.

Milo Yiannopoulos told NBC News that he arranged the meeting to make Trump's life miserable. Yiannopoulos is a political adviser to Ye.

The outlet reported that some of Trump's allies had warned him against meeting with Ye. The former president told one of his advisers that Ye's attendance at Mar-a-Lago would be fun.

Some Republicans are standing by Trump. Kevin McCarthy denounced the young man but kept repeating Trump's defense that he didn't know who the young man was.
