Karl- Anthony Towns is expected to be out of action for four to six weeks due to a calf strain.

Josh Robbins of The Athletic reported that Towns couldn't put any weight on his right leg after he was injured in the game against the Wizards. He was ruled out for the remainder of the game.

The extent of Towns' injury was revealed on Tuesday and he is expected to return in January.

Rudy Gobert is a three-time Defensive Player of the Year and the Wolves acquired him from the Utah Jazz.

After scoring at least 24 points in each of the last four years, the result has been a decrease in the numbers for Towns. His 0.7 blocks per game would be the lowest of his career.

He is an offensive weapon with at least 20 points in 14 of 21 games this year and has been productive in other ways. He only had one game in which he played in single digits.

It's a big loss for a squad that is 10th in the Western Conference with a 9-11 record.

With Karl Towns out, the Wolves will need Anthony Edwards and D'Angelo Russell to step up in his place.

Without Towns, Gobert will be under more pressure to control the paint.
