The airline made headlines for discriminating against Jews on flights. A settlement has been reached between the airline and passengers.

The basics of Lufthansa’s discrimination against Jews

There is an incident involving a flight from New York to Germany. The decision was made to deny boarding to the Orthodox Jews on the flight because they did not follow crew member instructions.

The issue is how the airline handled the situation. The specific passengers who were causing problems were not the only ones that the airline denied boarding to.

One of the interactions was filmed, and an employee of the airline confirmed that everyone was being punished for the crimes of some.

It's not a good look for a German airline.

Lufthansa settles, pays $21K to each passenger impacted

The CEO of the airline personally apologized for what happened and now they are giving monetary compensation. According to DansDeals, the airline paid $21,000 to each passenger who was affected by the incident.

Expenses resulting from being denied boarding will be covered by a settlement. The law firm that negotiated the settlement is said to be taking 18% of the $20,000.

The checks have been sent. It is thought that around 130 passengers were denied boarding, meaning that the airline has paid over two million dollars. That is not inexpensive.

This incident cost Lufthansa millions

Bottom line

The passengers were denied boarding on the flight due to a mechanical problem. Each passenger will get $17,400 after legal fees are taken into account.

It was nice to see that the story was amplified and that the CEO of Lufthansa apologized.

It's outrageous that the airline just denied all Jews boarding by association because they weren't complying with mask policies. It is hoped that something like this won't happen again.
