Half of the turkeys produced for Christmas in the UK have been culled due to bird flu, according to an industry chief.

600,000 free range birds have been lost according to the British Poultry Council.

The birds were ordered to be kept indoors to fight the bird flu.

The costs of the industry could be enormous.

Farmers don't know if there will be price rises or supply issues when it comes to free range turkey.

There are no issues with supplies of other birds according to the British Poultry Council.
