The Eagles will be without C.J.Gardner- Johnson for the rest of the season.

He won't need surgery and isn't expected to miss the rest of the season, according to Tom Pelissero.

The Packers wide receiver was hurt in the first quarter when he was hit by Gardner- Johnson. He was taken to the locker room for evaluation after falling to a knee.

At the start of the third quarter, the Eagles announced that Gardner- Johnson would not play the rest of the game due to a rib injury.

Reed Blankenship was in charge of the safety for the rest of the game. He had a season-high six tackles, including a pick off of Rodgers.

Blankeship had some rough times in his first extended playing time. He was flagged for an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty in the third quarter and was beaten on the touchdown catch by the other team.

Losing Gardner- Johnson is a big deal for the Eagles secondary. He ranks third on the team with eight pass breakups and has four tackles for loss.

Blankenship had mostly been on the special teams. He had two snaps with the defense. He played 35 defensive snaps against the Packers.

The Eagles have the best record in the league and a two-game lead in the division. If they want to slow it down, they can because they are a good bet to make the playoffs.

The Philadelphia Eagles will travel to play the New York Giants, Chicago Bears, and Dallas Cowboys over the next three weeks.
