Clarence Gilyard Jr., who played the Texas Ranger in Walker, Texas Ranger, passed away yesterday. The man was 66. There are no details about his death.

According to a statement from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Gilyard passed away on Monday.

Dean Nancy Uscher shared the sad news in a statement. All of his students were inspired by him. He was well known in the university through his dedication to teaching and his professional accomplishments.

He cheerfully declared that he was blessed whenever we asked how he was. She said that they were the ones who were blessed to be his colleagues and students for a long time. We will miss you Professor G.

Clarence Gilyard Jr., who was born December 24, 1955 into a military family, got a start as an actor on television.

Gilyard played a naval officer in Top Gun and was also in Die Hard. He began his four-season stint as a private investigator in 1989. He spent eight years as the Walker, Texas Ranger.

In 2006 Gilyard took a break from acting to study theater at SMU.

I'm good at teaching. The profession needs to feed the classroom. Gilyard told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that he was in touch with people in the 21st century.

I like to work as an artist when I am in a fertile area. He said that means creativity and imagination. I don't understand what they're saying, but I'm sucking off their energy.

Gilyard was back on the screen in a Die Hard battery commercial.

Gilyard was married to another woman. In 2001, he married Elena Gilyard.
