He had major roles in popular TV series from the '80s and '90s. He worked with many famous people. He played Sundown in the movie "Top Gun". Theo was Gilyard's breakthrough role. Theo was the sardonic tech wizard who took over a Los Angeles skyscraper with terrorists and tried to steal $640 million. Theo famously exclaimed, "Oh my god, the quarterback is toast!" in a scene where the terrorists bomb anLAPD vehicle. Dean Nancy J. Uscher remembered Gilyard as if it were yesterday. I share this news with deep sadness. All of the people who knew him were inspired by him. His dedication to teaching and his professional accomplishments made him well-known in the university. The man went on. He was always willing to lend a hand to projects and performances. Gilyard was 66 years old I am sad.
