The mission's commander, Deng Qingming, and two other people will be sent to Tiangong for a period of six months. The space station is expected to be reached about six hours after the launch.

Three astronauts from the other side of the world will meet them on the Tiangonggong space station. China will support two crews at the same time for the first time.

The overlap is expected to last for a short time, however, as Shenzhou 14 is expected to return to Earth in the near future.

The International Space Station is 20% larger. After the arrival of the third and final module, the assembly phase ended for the Chinese outpost.

For at least the next 10 years, China will continue to operate Tiangong. Chinese space officials have said they may eventually open the station to foreign spaceflyers and possibly even space tourists.
