The senator from North Carolina tried to blame Donald Trump's staff for allowing the former president to host a white supremacist.

Over the weekend, Trump admitted that he had dined at Mar-a-Lago with far-right provocateur Nick and Ye. Trump said he didn't know who the man was and that Ye brought him to his estate.

If the reports are true, whoever allowed Fuentes in the room should be fired.

Democrats, civil rights groups, and even some of Trump's Republican allies in Congress condemned the dinner.

Scott said there was no room in the Republican Party for white supremacists. The senator said that the president should not have met with the white supremacist because he legitimized him.

According to sources, Trump said, "He gets me" during the meeting.

Some agree with Tillis that the person responsible should be fired.
