The first high quality study looking at the impact of cannabidiol oil on patients with cancer found it did not improve their quality of life.

The trial looked at the effects of cannabidiol oil on patients receiving care for cancer. Neither the researchers nor the participants were aware that the trial was double blind.
Patients received standard care during the trial period.
The trial found that there was no change in physical or emotional functioning, overall quality of life, fatigue, nausea and vomiting, pain, dyspnoea or appetite loss, as a result of the use of cannabinoids.
She said that the study only looked at the effect ofCannabidiol.
She said that the cannabis plant has a lot of cannabinoids and other compounds. The two most prominent cannabinoids are cannabidiol, which is found in cannabis, and THC, which is found in marijuana.
The next study will look at a combination of cannabinoids to see if there is a benefit to using them together. Cannabidiol is very popular because it doesn't have the effects of drugs. It means that you can drive and do other activities while on it, even if it is not legal to drive on it.
She said that it might be useful for the treatment of cancer-related symptoms not examined in the study. Despite the lack of evidence of benefit, 36% of the study participants decided to buy a product after the trial even though they weren't aware of it. Even ifCannabidiol did not improve specific symptoms, it may contribute to a better feeling of general wellbeing.
The purpose of the study was to fill a gap in the scientific evidence supporting the use of cannabis for pain relief.
She said that the best way to describe it was as a social phenomenon.
There wasn't much evidence to guide its use. New products entering the market usually go through extensive pre-clinical studies regarding best dosage and usage, however the market for Medicinal Cannabis has very little guidance.

"This might seem like a disappointing conclusion, but it's an important one". He said that the study found no adverse effects from the oil and that it could be used in other patient groups.
He said that a trial like this is a stepping stone to larger trials that may be designed in a way that focuses on more targeted areas where cannabinoids may have an effect. The study shows thatCannabidiol is not likely to make things worse.
