It is possible that Post News did launch overnight. Post News emerged two weeks ago, unlike Mastodon, Hive Social, or other existing social networks. The team wanted to go public in a time when the chaos of Musk's leadership was front-and-center in our minds.

Like and reposting other people's posts is one of the basic functions of post news. Adding alt text to images, a feature that sparked concern for some users, is one of the basic functions that it doesn't have.

Post News wants to take advantage of the "virtual watercooler for journalists" on social media. Premium news content can be accessed without subscriptions or ads. Post News encourages news publishers and independent writers to share their articles under a pay wall. Users would be able to pay for individual articles from different news sources. To pay for individual subscriptions to specific news sources is an alternative.

Post News founder Noam Bardin said he believes the future newspaper is the feed and wants to make it more civil for users. Bardin served as the CEO of the company.

There is a profile on Post News.

According to Bardin, Post News has about 335,000 users on its waiting list. Users are being allowed to use the platform slowly as they don't overload it. An undisclosed amount of funding has been secured by the platform from a number of people. Swisher is not an investor in the company.

The venture capital firm contributed $400 million to Musk's acquisition of the social networking site. Sriram Krishnan is an investor at a16z. Bardin said that he chose to work with a16z because they were the fastest investors to make a decision.

Bardin wrote on his Post News account that this does not mean that he is a fan of the coin or that he agrees with everything a16z says. We discussed the investment at the highest level and I can assure you that it is not a problem, because Post is separate from the people involved with the social networking site.

Bardin and a16z were contacted by TechCrunch.

Post News wants to do something. The business model of the platform relies on digital news publishers opting in to its model of charging readers per article instead of for a subscription. The platform is growing fast while it still has some safety features in the works.

Bardin said that the early version of the game is not right for everyone. People won't be able to find a polished product. When things are production grade, it is okay to take a break.
