Diego Luna is at the center of Disney+'s Andor. The first season of the show tracked how a lost person can be reprogrammed by the world around him and called to revolution. In the meantime, Luna talked about how the upcoming episodes might bring new context to the movie that will follow in their footsteps.
Luna said that the suicide mission in the movie was for her. It is for his people and his community. The arc that Tony Gilroy has built is one that ends in the second season of the show. I think it will be amazing to watch the second season of the show. You will see a different movie. You will understand the character from a different point of view and you will be with him in a different way.
We first meet Cassian as a full-on leader and spy in the movie, if you haven't seen it yet. He learns about the Death Star and kills the source. He seems to be loyal to the Rebellion and determined to live or die. The second season will see Cassian becoming more and more involved in the Rebellion and more and more disaffected with the Empire.
