While repeating baseless voting fraud conspiracy that he has used to contest his own 2020 defeat, former President Donald Trump called for the winner of the Arizona governorship to be named on Monday.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump claimed that the former TV news anchor-turned politician was a victim of a criminal voting operation and that her opponent was the winner.
There were a lot of broken voting machines in Republican districts on election day. They were sent in to fix them. He wrote that he had to take Kari to a Democrat area so she could vote. The governor of Arizona should beKari Lake.
Lake said that she voted in a liberal district in downtown Phoenix to make sure that she had good machines. She didn't suggest that this decision was due to her machines malfunctioning.
In October, then-Arizona Republican Gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake embraced former President Donald Trump.
Lake has refused to concede the election and last week she filed a public records lawsuit against the county.
The largest county in the state reported some issues with printers at 20% of its voting locations.
The printing issues did not stop people from voting. The Associated Press and The Washington Post analyzed the locations and found that it was not exclusively in Republican or Democratic districts. Some polling places that reported issues were in Democratic areas.
Lake, since announcing her political run, has publicly presented herself as an election conspiracy theorist and a 2020 election denier insists that Trump fairly won his reelection campaign against President Joe Biden and that electronic voting machines can't be fully trusted
She filed a lawsuit in August asking for a hand count of all the votes. The lawsuit was dismissed by a federal judge because it didn't show any harm from using the machines.
The results of the election will be certified by the Board of Supervisors on Monday.
