Will Smith hopes that audiences won't punish him for hitting Chris Rock at the Oscars because they don't want to see him in a movie.

Smith hopes his actions won't affect the artists in and around the film, who have done some of the best work of their career.
During the Oscars ceremony in March, Smith slapped Chris Rock, who ad-libbed a joke about Smith's wife, Jada Pinkett- Smith. Smith was banned from attending ceremonies for the next 10 years after he resigned as a member of the academy. He can still get a nomination. Smith won his first Oscar after being nominated for his portrayal of Richard Williams in King Richard. It was reported that Apple was going to delay the film because Smith could be nominated again for his work.
Peter escaped from slavery and joined the Union army. The photographs of his back, which were taken after he was whipped by his enslavers, became famous for exposing the brutality of slavery.
The film will be available to watch on Apple TV+ on December 9.
