The person was escorted off the field after dropping the flag on the field. A worker collected the flag after the referee picked it up and left it on the sideline.

Stuart Andrew, the UK's sports minister, will wear the OneLove armband at the World Cup between Wales and England.

Mr Andrew said he would not shy away from who he is.

Even though the world's football governing body has warned players they could be booked for making political protests, the UK's first openly gay sports minister is determined to make the gesture.

Mr Andrew told the Evening Standard that he would be wearing the captain's uniform.
