Mick Beale will be the new manager of Rangers for the next ten years.

He arrived at the training ground on Monday to complete his move from Queens Park Rangers, where he took charge less than six months ago.

Damian Matthew, Harry Watling and Neil Banfield are expected to be added to the Rangers' coaching staff.

He said that it was great to be back and to see everyone, even though there were some new faces.

I am very proud of the football club.

To be the manager of this football club is something that is very special for everyone that works here.

Some wonderful people have sat in this chair before me, and I am incredibly proud to be the person sitting here now.

I am happy to have Michael back at Rangers. I know how much he is looking forward to being Rangers manager.

Our players and staff are excited to work with Michael. He has a plan and will get to work with the group immediately.

"After an intense week of discussions, I wish to extend our sincere thanks to all of the excellent managers who we met to discuss the role."

"I am delighted to welcome Michael as our new manager as we aim to strengthen our on-field performance," said Park.

Michael's energy and ambition stood out both when he was here previously and in the discussions we had prior to him rejoining.

Michael and Ross Wilson will be supported by the board to make this appointment a success.

Beale's journey to becoming Rangers boss

He spent 10 years at the club as a coach before moving to work with the U23s atLiverpool, where he has worked ever since.

He was appointed Sao Paolo assistant manager at the age of 36, but seven months later he resigned and returned to his previous job.

During his three years at Rangers, he helped the club win their 55th top-flight title and then joined Steven Gerrard at Villa.

In June, 20 years after he began his coaching career, he became the head coach at Queens Park Rangers and they went on to win the Championship.

The form led to an approach from Wolves, but they turned it down because ofintegrity and loyalty.

Why did he choose Rangers over Wolves?

It might seem odd that he turned down Wolves in October because he wanted to manage in the premier league one day.

He loved the club after his first stint in Glasgow.

He still maintains good relations with key figures at the club, including Ross Wilson, who attended a match against Aberdeen last month.

The expectation of delivering more silverware was not lost on him.

The pressure to deliver for those supporters is what he thrives on, and it's something not many clubs can boast of.

There is a huge incentive to play in the playoffs. He will be confident of building a squad that can compete against Europe's elite next year, despite the fact that Rangers lost every game this season.

His family struggled to settle in the West Midlands after he moved from Glasgow and he wanted to return to his hometown.

The Rangers had a difficult start to the season.

A number of poor results resulted in his dismissal, which has left the team nine points behind Celtic.

Rangers lost all six of their group-stage matches in the European competition, including a 7-1 defeat at home to the Reds.

After a two-week break for the World Cup, the players returned to training on Monday and met up with their friend and teammate, Kurtley.

Kris said that he was a Rangers player.

This is a great opportunity for Mick to manage a club that is well known around the world.

Huge pressure is brought by that responsibility. When that pressure builds from the stands and on social media, he will have to keep his cool.

"Beale's relationship with the club and fans will help but while he has credit in the bank, that only goes so far."

He was fired just months after winning the Scottish cup. The pressures of Rangers are highlighted by that.

Some players have said that Beale is the best coach they have worked under.

If you're not highly regarded but you're a coach, you don't get the job at the likes of Rangers, or any of the other top teams.

People will ask if he's ready for such a job after a short time at Queens Park Rangers. It is a big gamble, but those in charge believe he is the right man for the job.
