George Takei was in the "Star Trek" cast.
In the original series, Takei played Hikaru Sulu.
The actor referred to Shatner as the leader of the group.
George Takei is one of the most beloved alumni of the "Star Trek: The Original Series" due to his activism and online presence.
The 85-year-old star is currently starring in the UK production of "Allegiance," which is based on his time imprisoned in US internment camps for Japanese American families during World War II.
In a recent interview with the Guardian, Takei talked about his life and career, as well as his ongoing feud with William Shatner.
The actor was asked if the original cast had a good time, and he said they were all very close.
Takei agreed. I agree. Is that correct? Except for one who was a leader. The rest of us had a lot in common.
"None of us got along with Shatner when we worked together," Takei said.
He said that he was self- involved. Being the center of attention made him happy. Everyone was supposed to kowtow to him.
According to Takei, Shatner thinks he only discusses their feud to get free publicity out of him, and wants to just promote his own work.
He said that the man came to London to promote his book and that he wanted to use his name for publicity. I don't need his name to get attention. I have a lot more important subject matter that I want to get publicity for, so I won't mention Bill in this interview.
The actor was aware that he was furthering the fire by mentioning Shatner
Takei said that he just did. I'm going to let him use his devices because he's just a cantankerous man. I won't be playing his game.
