Riots broke out in a number of Belgian and Dutch cities after the World Cup game.
Water cannons and tear gas were used by police to break up crowds in the Northern city of Antwerp and in the Belgian capital of Brussels. Two police officials were hurt in the Netherlands. The calm had returned to most of the cities.
Cars were torched, electric scooters were set on fire and bricks were thrown at cars. The police moved in after a person was injured.
Authorities were doing their best to keep order in the streets and the mayor urged people to stay out of the city center. Subway and tram traffic had to be stopped.
