There are many ways to donate your points. We will highlight a few programs that make it easy to redeem.
Points can be used toward a variety of nonprofits. You can link your accounts with the help of Amex and Just Giving.
Some of the best Amex card options are listed here. If you sign up for a Hilton credit card, you'll be able to earn Hilton Honors points even if you don't stay at a hotel.
The American Red Cross, Global Glimpse and Make a Wish are some of the charities that you can donate miles to through United.
You can now redeem points for charity.
While we typically prefer to accumulate miles and points and use them to travel, donating a small amount of miles or points can be a great way to keep your points and miles from expiring. If you have a large amount of points and want to use them for good, then using them can be a good idea.
Signing up for a new credit card is a must if you are going to make a large donation. You can make a lot of progress by doing so. If you don't want to sign up for a new card, it's a good idea to have a card with a spending bonus.
Credit card sign up bonuses are easy to earn.
Merchants and charities pay fees on credit card charges.
The fee for most cards and merchants is between 2% and 4%. The charity will only get $960 to $980 of your donation if the bank charges card processing fees.
If you want a set amount to reach your charity of choice, you may want to cover the credit card charges. If you use a debit card, check or cash, you won't get any rewards for donating.
