Kemba Walker's best moments from his time with the Knicks (1:54)

Kemba Walker had his best moments last season. There is a time and a place for it.

According to sources, the Dallas Mavericks intend to sign veteran guard Kemba Walker to address their glaring need for another creator.

Sources say that Dallas will waive Campazzo to make room for Walker on the roster.

Walker has been a free agent since he was cut by the Pistons in October. He averaged 11.6 points and 3.5 assists in 37 games last season for the New York Knicks, who traded him to the Pistons on draft night in a cost-cutting move.

During last season's run to the Western Conference finals, Dallas missed the scoring and playmaking provided by Brunson, which is why the team is now 9-11.

Doncic is leading the NBA in scoring with 33.1 points per game, but opponents are trapping and double-teaming him to force the ball out of his hands. The Mavs haven't been able to score when Doncic isn't on the floor. They are 0-6 when he doesn't score 30 points when he doesn't play.

Walker accepted an identical offer from the Boston Celtics after the Mavs tried to sign him to a max contract. He averaged 22.8 points and 5.6 assists in two injury-marred seasons for the Celtics. Walker was able to sign a two-year deal with the Knicks after he was let go by the Oklahoma City.

During the All-Star break, the Knicks announced that Walker wouldn't be playing anymore. The last two months of the season were off for him.

A chance to sign with an NBA team is what Walker is waiting for.

Walker said during an appearance on "The Woj Pod" that he was making sure he was ready when someone called. I have the ability to help a team. I have the ability to play basketball at a high level.

Substack reported that the Mavs were going to sign Walker.
