What the World Cup fan village in Qatar looks like (1:56)

Mark had a look at the fan village. There is a time and a place for it.

In a Group G match at Al Janoub Stadium on Monday, Serbia had a two-goal lead before being pegged back by the Africans.

After both teams lost their opening games in a group that also features Switzerland and Brazil, the point may not be enough to help either team get through to the round of 16. It gave fans a reason to be excited about the game.

The news and features of the World Cup in 2022.

Rapid Reaction

1. Super-sub Aboubakar leads historic comeback for Cameroon

After falling behind in the second half, it seemed like the game was over for them. The same thing happened in history. In World Cup history, only two African teams have ever come back from two-goal deficits to win: South Africa's 2-2 draw with Paraguay in 2002 and theIvory Coast's 3-2 win against Serbia and Montenegro in 2006

The rest of the world did not fare any better. Less than 5% of the teams in the World Cup have been able to rescue a point.

There was a change in the 55th minute. His perfectly timed run put him in one-versus-one to score the team's second goal with an incredible chip, then he assisted Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting's tying goal minutes later.

It might not have been necessary had it not been for the best player on the team. The Serbia's first goal was scored by Strahinja Pavlovic, who ran unimpeded through the box and headed in the goal. He cheaply gave the ball away at the top of the box and didn't try to win it back, which gave Sergej Milinkovic-Savic the chance to put Serbia in front.

2. Serbia controls game for long stretches

Serbia was able to dictate the play for most of the game's first two thirds despite falling behind in the 31st minute.

Outside of that goal, Serbia played their way through to the final third. It looked like the three points would be easy when they scored in the 53rd minute, but it wasn't until after the break that they got on the board.

It was a huge missed opportunity for Serbia to reach the knockouts and they will need a win against Switzerland on Friday to make it. It was possible that a draw would have been enough.

3. The case of the missing goalkeeper

When Onana wasn't on the team sheet, there was a big surprise. According to sources, Onana left the team due to a disagreement with the coach, who set up the team to play too defensively. Samuel Eto'o tried to convince Onana to stay with the team.

With the Inter Milan goalkeeper unavailable, Song turned to a French-born player who is currently playing in Saudi Arabia. On Serbia's first goal, no one could have done anything, but he could have done better on the second.

It's difficult to say how Onana's presence would have affected the game, but with one point through two matches, it's hard to see how they can qualify.

It looked like Serbia was going to cruise after they scored twice in the first half and made it 3-1 early in the second.

How have Serbia gone from looking ready to board the next flight home to playing some of the nicest football of the tournament. Ridiculous
