Parent Meta has confirmed that there is a new feature that allows you to send messages to yourself. The feature, which was first spotted by WaBetaInfo several weeks ago as part of a test, is being rolled out to all users in the coming weeks.

You will be able to see yourself at the top of the contacts list when you create new messages. You can send yourself notes, reminders, shopping lists, and anything else you need to remember once you click on that. If enabled, the resulting notification could help make sure your self-note doesn't get ignored. Users can pin their messages to the top of their conversations for easier access.

You could only message yourself if you created a group with just you as a member or if you used the click to chat feature. "Note to Self" is buried in your contacts list rather than being available at the top of the platform. You should be able to see the feature in the next couple of weeks on either device.
