A test drive of the new vehicle saw it complete a 500 mile trip loaded to its maximum weight, according to Musk.

There is a 500-mile-range variant and a 300-mile-range option for the Semi.
Rival makers of electric semis have yet to reach such a long range, so once verified, it should boost its visibility among companies looking for a green option to transport goods.
It has been a long time coming, with several launch dates slipping along the way.
When loaded with its 80,000 pound maximum gross vehicle weight, the new Semi can reach 60 miles per hour in 20 seconds.
The first deliveries of the all-electric car will take place on December 1. The handover will take place at a special event at the company's facility in Nevada. The company wants to make 50,000 units a year in North America by the year 2025.
