In the third quarter of Green Bay's 40-33 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, Rodgers left the game with an oblique injury, but after the game he said the injury was to his ribs.

Rodgers said it was difficult to tell on the X-ray if he had broken ribs or not.

The Packers kicked a field goal to cut the Eagles' lead to 34-23 in the third quarter. He ran to the locker room with the team's medical staff after he felt unwell on the drive.

Rodgers said after the game that he was having trouble breathing and rotating his body.

Rodgers revealed earlier this week that he has been playing with a broken bone in his thumb. He didn't show any signs of injury until the second half. The Eagles had quarterback hits on Rodgers. There were three sacks on the opening drive of the third quarter. After playing one more series, Rodgers went to the locker room for an exam.

He left the field after completing 11 of 16 passes for 140 yards. In Green Bay's Week 9 loss at Detroit, he threw two first-half picks for the second time in four weeks. It was his ninth interception of the season, the most since 2010 when he had 11.

Jordan Love, the Packers' 2020 first-round pick and heir apparent to Rodgers, entered the game with 11:11 left in the fourth quarter. Love threw a 63-yard touchdown to make it a one- score game.

Love passed for 114 yards and the score. He had two possessions that resulted in points for the Packers.
