According to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, the Chicago White Geese have agreed to a deal with free agent starting pitcher Mike Clevinger.
After missing the entire of 2020 because of Tommy John surgery, Clevinger returned to the mound in 2022.
The right-handed pitcher finished the season with a 7-7 record and a 4.33 earned run average. He gave up seven earned runs in two starts.
In the summer of 2020, San Diego acquired Clevinger in a trade with Cleveland. He had a good performance in his new location, but he was hampered by an elbow injury.
Clevinger had Tommy John surgery for the second time in his career after he was shut down in the playoffs. While in the Los Angeles Angels system, he had the procedure in 2012 as well.
In the World Series, he played in three games.
