A woman with a concealed- carry permit was carjacked by four men on the South Side of Chicago.

The woman, who remains unidentified, was sitting in her car in the Calumet Heights neighborhood just after 2 a.m. when four men spilled out of a black sedan.

The would-be carjacker was shot in the head by the woman when he tried to open the door.

She was taken to Advocate Trinity Hospital in fair condition after she was shot in the arm.

There were seven carjackings reported in one hour on the west side.

The man who was shot in the head was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition.
