Newcastle and Barnsley players line up at St. James' Park prior to their FA Cup tie
Some 28,565 fans were in attendance at St. James' Park

In the second round of the Women's FA Cup, St James' Park set a new attendance record as they came from behind to win.

The tournament had the highest attendance outside of a final.

The first goal was scored by Emily Pierrepont in the 15th minute, but the second goal was scored by Georgia Gibson midway through the second half.

Sharna Wilkinson scored the winning goal minutes later.

"I'm genuinely lost for words," Wilkinson told BBC Radio Newcastle after the Lady Magpies booked their spot in the third round.

The team made their St James' Park debut in May when 22,134 supporters, including the manager of the men's team, Eddie Howe, watched them beat Alnwick Town.

The draw for the Women's FA Cup will be held on Monday.
