Gary O'Neil has been named Bournemouth's manager on a permanent basis.
O'Neil has an option to extend his contract for another year.
O'Neil has led Bournemouth to 13 points from 11 top-flight games and they are 14th in the premier league.
He guided the Cherries to a 4-1 win against the Toffees in the third round of the Caraboa Cup. In their last game before the World Cup break, they beat the Toffees.
There is a chance that the Cherries will be taken over by a Las Vegas-based group.
"We have been impressed with the way he has conducted himself since he joined the club and feel he has earned this opportunity to continue to take the team and the club forward," the Bournemouth chief executive said.
The players have responded by producing some excellent performances and results as a result of Gary's hard work and dedication.
It was obvious from the reception he received from our supporters that they appreciated his efforts, and we are all looking forward to continuing our relationship with him.
Before he became a coach, O'Neill made more than 450 appearances for a number of teams.
He was an assistant manager with the Under-23s at the time.
O'Neil joined the coaching set up at Bournemouth under former manager Jonathan Woodgate in February of 2021.
