Gary O'Neil has been the interim head coach of Bournemouth for the last 12 matches.

O'Neil has impressed in his first managerial role since taking charge of the Cherries. Depending on the results, the deal can be extended for another 12 months.

Under the 39-year-old, Bournemouth have won four, drawn four and lost four and are 14th in the premier league.

O'Neil is both a players' and fans' favourite and the Bournemouth hierarchy feel that he should continue in the manager's job.

Despite not being approved by the premier league, O'Neil was appointed. It is thought that the deal will be approved by the league in the next couple of weeks.

After a slow start to the season, O'Neil's time in charge has made a difference.

Bournemouth have scored 12 goals in their last four games and have kept three clean sheets.
