According to Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo, Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields is a long shot to play against the New York Jets on Sunday.

Fields, who has been limited in practice all week, will be given the chance to warm up on Sunday before a final decision is made.

After a Week 11 loss to the Atlanta Falcons, Fields was carted to the locker room with a serious injury. Ian Rapoport said the injury was a left shoulder dislocation.

The Bears don't have a chance of making the playoffs, so they'll treat any injury to their quarterback with extreme caution. His ability to live up to his long-term potential is more important than winning a single game down the stretch of a lost season.

After his first season, there were some questions about the young man, but he has taken a lot of strides in his second.

The Ohio State product has accounted for over 800 yards and seven touchdown on the ground in his career. He has completed 58.6 percent of his passes for 1,642 yards and 13 touchdown.
