The master of music creation has transitioned. According to Cara's publicist, the Puerto Rican-Cuban actor and singer died in her Largo, Florida home during the week of Thanksgiving 2022, on Saturday, November 26.
She was best known for her co-writing credits for the hit soundtracks for the films "Flashdance" and "Fame." She played the role of Sparkle in the 1976 film which was based on The Supremes. She played the mother of Alex Haley in the movie. When more information is available, the cause of death will be released, according to her publicist, Judith Moose.
Her legacy will live on through her music and movies. Let me know if you have any thoughts or memories of Irene. Her fans were very fond of her.
Many of the fans were fans from the beginning, who remember when Cara played the part of Coco in Fame. For black women who dared to and continued to push through closed doors in order to access success in the U.S., the song "Fame" is a legend.
The title song for the movie flashdance was co-written by Cara. That song was nominated for an Oscar and won.
Many brown-skinned stars of her time had ups and downs. She was not the only one who said she didn't get the royalties she was due. She won when she sued for access to her masters. Carismatic was her last album. There is a longer look at Carismatic at other projects that she has done.
Fans will be remembered at a memorial service.
