Main poster for Star Wars: Andor.

It doesn't feel like that long ago that Diego Luna's character was getting a solo show. Over the past two months, Andor has proven to be a really good show. Not just great for Star Wars, but great in a way that could easily make you forget you are watching a movie about a guy who is fated to eventually die as part of a bigger effort to save the galaxy.

The second season of Andor has been given a two-season order from Tony Gilroy, who has been upfront about how the second season will lead into Rogue One. The season one finale of "Rix Road" made clear what was to come for the show's main cast.

The post-credits scene for "Rix Road" shows that the Death Star is active. It is being made using the machinery that the prisoners were forced to work on when they were in prison.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Gilroy said that its continued assembly will be a "looming threat" and that it will drive the show forward. He said that the next season is about who picks up the last piece of the puzzle. But he is looking for answers.

He won't know that he had an unwilling hand in the device's creation. The show will progress linearly into the film, according to the filmmaker. The show will end with him getting on the ship and going there. We are not going to be in the movie. The Death Star will not be altered by the show and his introduction in the movie will stay the same.

The second season of Andor would cover a year of the hero's life every three episodes, according to reports before the show aired. The timelines of those arcs were described by the author. They won't be dispersed. The second season is more focused than the first, he said.

As for what that means for Cassian as a character, Gilroy told Entertainment Weekly that we will see him grow into his leadership role that eventually leads to him stealing the Death Star plans. He needs to negotiate his way through the Luthen experience and the benefits and disasters that come with it. He will be the guy who gives his life when our show ends up in Yavin.

The second season will show how the disparate rebel groups come together. In Luthen's scenes with Saw Gerrera, he touches on the fact that he doesn't like some other rebel cells hitting the Empire. The tension between those groups is going to be further expanded in season two, and it will fall on Cass to get everyone to see eye-to- eye.

When your business is paranoia, how do you run it? When paranoia and secrecy are your product, how do you work together? All the relationships and all the love and all the betrayal that defined some of season one's quieter, strongest moments will be featured in the new season. One thing that won't be brought up is the fact that he is loyal to the cause. He's in and he's committed. What are you going to do with it?
