Boebert sent prayers to the victims of the Club Q shooting, which left five people dead and 25 injured. She said that the violence needs to stop quickly.

The Colorado lawmaker, who has taken a stance against civil rights protections for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and queer community, was met with resistance.

Lauren Boebert has played a major role in elevating anti-LGBT+ hate rhetoric and anti-trans lies while she was in Congress. You don't get to think and pray your way out of this. Change and look inward.

Right-wing politicians have made anti-gay statements that have been harmful to the community.

"When an entire group of people is dehumanized by elected officials and faith leaders for political gain or to gain influence, there are repercussions," BruceParker, the deputy director of the Colorado non-profit Out Boulder County, told Insider. The people with their rhetoric and attacks on the LGBTQ community put us in a tough spot.
