Remembering Irene Cara Getty

The singer behind "Fame" and "Flashdance" has passed away.

According to her rep, Cara died in her home. There were no details regarding her death.

She won an Oscar for her song "What a feeling" from "Flashdance", which made her a household name.

Her monster hit, "Fame", came from the movie of the same title. She was nominated for a Golden Globe for her performance.

"City Heat," co-starring Clint Eastwood and Burt Reynolds, was one of the films Cara appeared in. She played opposite O' Neal in the movie.

In 2004, she received a lifetime achievement award.

Her rep said, "It is with profound sadness that I tell you that she has passed away." As they grieve, the family has asked for privacy. Her legacy will live on through her music and movies.
