The Cowboys' victory on Fox averaged 42 million viewers, which was more than the average for the game between the Giants and 49ers on ABC in 1990. The average viewer record numbers were in the 1980's.
The three games on Thanksgiving Day had an average of 33.5 million viewers, which was a new high for the day.
Over last year's average, the average was up six percent.
