Adidas launched an investigation into allegations of improper conduct against the controversial artist after he announced his presidential campaign on Friday.
He said he asked Trump to be his running mate.
In a video posted Thursday night, Ye said he asked Trump to be his vice president, and that he was told he was going to lose.
The meeting between Ye and Trump took place at the former president's Mar-A-Lago estate in Florida, which also included far-right political commentator Nick Fuentes.
One month after Adidas dropped Ye over antisemitic and racist comments, the sportswear giant released a statement saying it isn't clear if the accusations are true.
It is Ye's second bid for the White House, following his failed 2020 campaign in which he earned just 70% of the vote.
His 2020 platform included pledges around freedom of religion, reducing student loan debt and investment in education systems for at risk people, although his political ambitions this time around are less clear.
Trump said on his social media platform that West asked him to have dinner at Mar-A-Lago and that he didn't know who his friends were. The dinner was quick and easy, according to Trump.
Several businesses, including Adidas, Gap and Footlocker, as well as record label Def Jam, dropped Ye, following a series of statements he made on social media. Adidas put its partnership with West under review after he wore a white Lives Matter shirt to a fashion show. After making several antisemitic comments, his account was blocked on social media and he followed it up with a threat to kill Jews. He came back to the platform after his account was shut down.
After being dropped by several companies, West said he would use the money from clothing sales to promote his campaign for president. West showed a warehouse of apparel with the YE 24 logo. Ye said he would sell the merchandise for $20, which was a huge discount from the $100-plus price tag he had sold for.
