Von Miller, the Bills' pass-rusher, injured his right knee during the team's win over the Detroit Lions on Thursday, but he did not tear anACL.

Sources said that Miller could be out for the rest of the season if he misses a couple of weeks.

Miller isn't expected to make any quick decisions about the best way to proceed with his knee injury as he gathers medical opinions.

The Bills will be without Miller for at least the start of a key stretch against the other teams in the division. The Bills play at New England on December 1st. The Bills haven't played well in division play.

Miller was hurt in the first half when he appeared to get rolled up. He went to a knee and talked to the trainers. He was taken to the locker room after spending time in the medical tent on the sideline.

He left the X-ray room at Ford Field and walked to the locker room. He didn't have a walking boot on his foot, and he didn't use crutches.

Miller had one tackle before he left the game. He was second in the NFL with 37 pressures.

Greg Rousseau and A.J. Epenesa are both injured. There are only two defensive ends on the active roster, and Mike Love was called up from the practice squad.

The interior defensive line played well without Miller. Ed Oliver and DaQuan Jones combined to make three tackles for loss, and each had two quarterback hits. Oliver's sack led to a safety and he also forced a fumbled ball.

The Super Bowl 50 Most Valuable Player was signed by the Bills in the off-season to fill a major need. The Bills were one of the teams that Miller was interested in joining as he hit free agency for the first time in his career. A six-year, $120 million contract was agreed to that links the 33 year old to the Bills for the next three years and provides more flexibility.

Miller leads the Bills in sacks and pass rush win rate. Miller missed all of the 2020 season with an ankle injury.
