  • Google has released a new update for the Nest Wifi Pro to address slow internet speeds.
  • A bug in the router previously capped its speeds to a paltry 50Mbps for early adopters.
  • However, a known issue with the Google Home app's built-in speed tester remains in place.

The new software update was released to fix a bug that limited the speeds of the routers and prevented early users from enjoying their full gigabit connection.

General stability and performance improvements are included in the latest update, as well as fixes for low speeds. When it was announced, the new Nest Wifi Pro promised to deliver full 6E speeds, with a top speed of over 5 gigahertz.

One glaring issue is that the speeds were capped at 50mbps. In some cases, users reported that their old device was faster than the new one. Thankfully, this restriction has been removed thanks to the latest update from the internet giant.

There is still an issue with the built-in speed test tool. This is a known issue that may return lower-than- expected speed test results if you have a high internet plan. This will be fixed in a software release.

This problem doesn't affect the actual speeds of your internet connection. You should get a better result if you use other speed test applications.

If your internet plan is below that speed, you should be fine. Hopefully, the person behind it will be revealed soon.
