A former professional boxer has been arrested after Miami police say he was going to shoot up a gym.

Two felony counts of issuing written threats to commit a mass shooting and one felony count of threatening to kill were the charges against Azea.

He competed in the 2008 Olympics in China for Haiti as a light-weight. In the mid-2010s, he appeared on cards at Casino Miami Jai-Alai and other places.

A judge on Wednesday ordered a $3 million bond and house arrest for the man if he doesn't post it. The assistant public defender said that the $3 million figure wastantamount to no bond.

The judge thinks he poses a danger to the community.

The arrest report states that he was a member of the BOXR Gym and was a personal trainer. He had his membership revoked after he got into an argument at the facility.

A boxing coach needed the space to start a class so he got into an argument with the business' owner. He was upset that he couldn't complete his workout. The coach was told to jump in the ring and fight it out.

The coach didn't bite and gave the money to the person who revoked his membership. The man left without any issues.

According to the report, the man called the police to say he wanted to go to the gym. He posted a photo of the school shooting and a caption saying he was considering shooting a bunch of people over being kicked out.

The report said that he was willing to shoot with a real gun. The report said he sent a picture to one of the people at the gym and said he would get his gun first.

Police say there was a threat to harm an employee at another gym.

Azea Agustama, a former Haitian national boxer, was arrested on Nov. 23, 2022, on allegations he threatened to commit a mass shooting at a Miami gym.

The boxer was kicked out of many boxing gyms, according to the man. He stated that he was not stable in the head.

The threats were serious, according to the cops. A $150 deposit was placed on an AK-47 rifle by the man on Tuesday afternoon.

Details of the threats were sent to Kevin. They were able to detain him at the pawn shop because they were able to track his social media accounts.

He did not have a concealed weapons permit, which made it difficult for him to take the gun immediately.

If he hadn't had a concealed weapons permit, he could have purchased a firearm and carried out his threats.

The police report states that the man confessed to buying the AK-47 and publishing the threats.

He graduated from North Miami Beach High and was born in Haiti. He started winning titles at the age of 15 and went on to win 60 amateur titles.

He made his professional debut in 2010 and raised money for survivors of the devastating earthquake.

There are many people in Haiti who are still struggling to rebuild their lives after the earthquake. Everything is put into perspective.
