The fact that many tourism dependent countries in the region imposed less severe travel restrictions and were able to maintain a steady flow of visitors is reflected in this stat.

The Dominican Republic welcomed 5% more visitors between January 1 and October 18 than it did during the same period in 2019. It was the most popular destination in the Caribbean.
