In a new video from NASA's Artemis 1 mission, Earth is seen rising over the shadowed moon.

The footage was captured on Monday, the same day that the engine burn took place. The first flight of NASA's Artemis program took off five days later.

Earth appears behind the moon in a two minute video. Our planet appears to come out of a black void because of the invisible moon.

The time of the video's taking was 8:05 a.m. After the lunar maneuver, the agency said in a description that the Deep Space Network of antenna regained contact with them about six minutes later.

There are amazing views of the Artemis 1 moon rocket debut.

The video footage was transmitted to Earth outside of an epic live broadcast that took place around that time, which focused on viewing our planet as a pale blue dot deep in space.

You are looking at home. During the live coverage of the lunar flyby on NASA Television, a NASA spokeswoman said that you can see yourself in the image.

On Monday, live viewers saw Earth setting behind the moon in the moments before the moon lost communication, as expected, to perform its engine maneuver on the lunar far side, which radio waves from our planet can't reach.

The Artemis 1 mission is testing the readiness of NASA's huge Space Launch System rocket for future missions of the Artemis program, which will continue with the Artemis 2 crewed mission around the moon.
