People familiar with the matter told the Journal that Disney's film had been approved for release in China.

The movie cost a lot and was the worst business case in movie history, according to the film's director, James.

It was one of the most expensive productions in history, with a budget between $350 to $400 million.

When high-profile actors and directors made statements about China that the government didn't agree with, or when the film featured certain political themes, China has banned the film.

According to the Journal, Disney blamed the lack of a Chinese opening for THOR: LOVE AND THUD on the fact that Chinese censors did not approve the last seven movies.

The Way of Water is expected to open between $150 and $175 million.
