Sean Payton, the former coach of the New Orleans Saints, is expected to have head-coaching vacancies in the National Football League, but he is expected to be patient in finding his next job.
According to Dan and Jeremy, Payton is interested in potential openings with the Los Angeles Clippers and ArizonaCardinals. According to a report, the veteran coach prefers a situation in which the quarterback situation is already settled, rather than drafting and developing a new player.
The Saints will probably get some form of compensation to allow their former coach to take another job. It's not likely that the level of compensation will deter any team from pursuing a great coach.
The Cards are more likely to have an opening this year. Heading into Sunday's game against the Bolts, Arizona is 4-7 and Kliff Kingsbury seems to be headed for his third.500 or worse season in four years. Kyler Murray signed a five-year, $230.5 million contract in the off-season.
The coach could be motivated to break the bank given his success with Drew Brees in New Orleans.
Brandon has a 14-13 record in Los Angeles, but his seat is not particularly warm. The Bolts have had a lot of injuries this season, with quarterback Justin Herbert playing through a rib injury and wideout Mike Williams missing extended time. It won't be until after the 2023 season that Staley will be fired.
