The row over the "OneLove" armband continued as Germany players put their hands over their mouths during a team photo ahead of their World Cup game against Japan.
All of Germany's players made a gesture in front of dozens of photographers on the pitch ahead of the game after world football body FIFA threatened seven European teams with sanctions if they wore a symbol of tolerance.
Nancy Faeser, the interior minister of Germany, wore the flag as she talked with Infantino.
She had said that the threat of sanctions was not acceptable.
"This is not all right, how federations are being put under pressure," Faeser said during a visit to a German FA event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
It is incomprehensible that people are not allowed to stand for tolerance and against discrimination. It's not appropriate for people in our time.
It wasn't about making a political statement - human rights are non-negotiable. That should be taken for granted, but it still isn't the case. That's why this message is so important to us.
Denying us the armband is the same as denying us a voice. We stand by our position. pic.twitter.com/tiQKuE4XV7
