The German football federation is looking into whether it is legal for football's world governing body to threaten players with sanctions for wearing OneLove at the World Cup.

The captains of seven European nations were going to wear an arm band to promote diversity.

The plans were dropped because of the threat of booking.

The DFB has been forbidden from using a symbol of diversity.

Threats of sporting sanctions were combined with this.

The DFB is looking at the legality of the action.

Germany, as well as England, Wales, Belgium, the Netherlands and Switzerland, had planned to wear the captain's hat during the World Cup.

According to Simon, the DFB contacted the Court of Arbitration for Sport over the issue and hopes that the captain will be able to wear the OneLove armband against Spain on Sunday.

Simon had previously claimed that the seven nations were being blackmailed.

Rewe has stopped advertising with the DFB in order to distance itself from the sport.

The No Discrimination campaign was due to begin from the quarter-finals.

For the duration of the tournament, captains will be allowed to wear a no discrimination armband.

France captain Hugo Lloris said he wouldn't wear the captain's hat because he wanted to show respect to the country that didn't make the World Cup.

The OneLove campaign was started by the Netherlands in order to promote diversity and inclusion.

Same-sex relationships and the promotion of same-sex relationships are not allowed in the country.

Muslim players can't promote campaigns like rainbow laces because they fear they are going against their religion.

When they are in our country, they respect our beliefs. We don't agree with it but it's still their religion.

We're coming here and protesting and upsetting a culture when these guys are in their own country.
