The ousting of Disney CEO Bob Chapek by his successor, Bob Iger, was approved by travel advisors who sell Disney products.

Michelle Allen

Is there a person like that in this world?

On Sunday evening, Disney announced that Iger would return to the role of CEO for two more years, in order to prevent him from retiring. Disney said that his focus was to set the strategic direction for renewed growth and develop a successor.

The owner of Travel Magic in Basking Ridge said she was happy. I feel like everyone is happy.

As an advisor, Allen felt that profits were put over people in the form of rising ticket prices, the elimination of free airport transfers, and the addition of a paid service that allowed access to shorter lines at the theme parks.

Sara Butruff is the owner of Travel Leaders in Apple Valley, Minn.

"I am not going to judge anyone for their job performance during a Pandemic," Butruff stated. I wanted to know if I liked the changes the company made during the Pandemic. It is not possible to say yes. It was crazy, but change is never fun or accepted.

There was a sigh of relief in the general community when Iger returned to his position as CEO.

Adam Duckworth, founder and president of Travelmation in Fort Lauderdale, said he was surprised because Disney's board renewed his contract for three more years.

Bob Iger was respected by the travel community and liked by fans.

Iger's acquisitions of popular brands led at least in part to his popularity, and he had also proven to be a polished, well- spoken executive.

Iger is more popular in the Disney community.

Disney's share prices have fallen under Chapek's leadership, according to Allen.

A perception of 'choosing dollars over fans'

While clients don't usually bring up executives' names with his advisors, Greg Antonelle, who owns Windermere, Fla.-based MickeyTravels with his wife Elyssa, said the feeling among his clients is that Disney waschoosing dollars over.

The perception with Bob is that he cared more about money than he did about fans.

Advisors who were enthusiastic about the change were not the only ones. Butruff thought that Iger was more connected to cast members. The Disney cast members were excited when the news came out. He shared an article about Iger's return with some employees while he was at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party.

He said that they all began jumping up and down. They won the lottery. It was incredible to see.

Even though the advisors don't like the policies put in place, Iger won't make major changes to park operations.

According to Testa, Iger's focus will be on Disney's streaming services and their costs.

Major changes on the travel side are not expected in the short term. Testa said that they would continue to see things like park reservations. The purchase of the Global Dream is expected to move forward in its original timetable.

Will Iger make good with Disney guests?

He thinks Iger will have to address some of the changes made to Disney parks.

He said that there were a lot of things that weren't free under Chapek.

The elimination of free transportation to Disney from the airport, increased prices for parking and tickets, and the addition of optional paid services were all pointed out by him.

He said that it might not be this week or next week, but that it will be exciting for fans.
