The bounce-back seasons of two of baseball's biggest stars were great.
The National League and American League Comeback Players of the Year were announced on Tuesday.

Chris Carpenter and Lance Berkman were the other two players to win the Comeback Player of the Year.
In his final season in Major League Baseball, the 22-year veteran returned to the Cards and was able to put together one of his best performances in a long time.
He became the fourth player in history to hit 700 homers.
Pujols has 24 home runs this season, which is the most in a season since he hit 31 with the Angels. His.550 slugging percentage was the highest since he hit a.596 in 2010, and his.895 OPS was the highest since he hit an.906 in 2011.
Pujols began his career with the Cards before moving to the Angels. He won many awards in his first stint in St. Louis, including two World Series titles.

After the season, Pujols will retire.
This award comes on the heels of two World Series titles for Verlander. He won the Comeback Player of the Year.
Verlander missed the entire 2021. campaign after having Tommy John surgery. He put together one of the best seasons of his career after coming back and answering questions about how he would perform.
In 28 starts, the 39-year-old posted a 1.75 earned run average, 0.83 WHIP and 185 strikeouts His FIP was the lowest by an American League pitcher in a long time.
Verlander is a free agent and it's not clear if he will end up in Houston.
