One of the nation's foremost criminal profilers said on Tuesday that the suspect in the murders of four University of Idaho students was likely a stalker who knew their habits.

The co-eds were found stabbed to death in their Moscow, Idaho, home nine days ago. In the week since the attack, local, state and federal law enforcement have received hundreds of tips, but they are still looking for the person or people behind it.

Jim Clemente, a retired FBI special agent and criminal behavioral analysis expert, told Fox News Digital that he thinks the suspect is a young man who hasn't done violent crimes before.

When contacted by phone Tuesday, he said that he was sloppy. A person like this would put him at a younger age and maybe above the victims.

Idaho police may be looking into the possibility of a killer in the woods near the college.

He doesn't think he's particularly sophisticated or forensically sophisticated.

The former New York City prosecutor said that going into a house with six people in different rooms in the middle of the night is an extremely high risk crime. The first thought that came to my mind was that the person did not just randomly choose this location, but that he targeted at least one or more of the people in there. It could be that he has a relationship with one or more of them, or it could be that he's been stalking them.

When the killer entered a home in the middle of the night, multiple people could confront and attack him, because he could have had a gun.

He said that unless he knew one or more of them he wouldn't. It reduces the risk if he did, or if he was stalking them, and they all got wasted on the weekend. They didn't get up until late afternoon because they were all wasted.

He said that if he knew that they were all drunk, it would make this a more plausible crime to commit. He was able to get away with it.

When asked why he thought the suspect was a man, he pointed to the wounds the victims had.

The location of the University of Idaho's crime scene is called a "PARTY House".

They were able to fight back. A male victim is one of the people that was killed by this person. The use of a knife as a murder weapon is indicative of a male offenders, according to him.

He said the time of the attack shows that he has the freedom to move around.

He wasn't in a relationship or a job that would keep him from committing the crimes.

There was a report of an "unconscious person" at the King Road home. The people gathered at the address before police arrived.

The Idaho police say that the dog's head to hair is not related to college students' murders.

They were killed in the middle of the night in the second and third floors of their house.

The victims were identified as Madison Mogen and Xana Kernodle.

The two roommates who were inside the home at the time of the murders were not injured.

The victims are thought to have been asleep when they were attacked. There were no signs that the victims were sexually attacked. All of them are thought to have been killed with a single knife.

The killer "chose a knife" and it is important to note that, according to Clemente, who later became a writer and producer.

He thought that this could mean that the suspect is a hunter, a butcher or both.

Four people were killed this way. He ran after the first one and didn't just run after the second one.

The killer's behavior before and after the crime can be useful for the community and investigators.

The killer could have been proud of his knife and carried it around and showed it off to people. He had some kind of contact with at least one person in the house.

The suspect would have fled the area and won't return until it calms down. It might not be noticeable at a time when so many people are leaving for the holiday.

Moscow did not record a murder in over seven years before college students were killed.

He may not have showed up for work or was late after. He is likely interested in the news of this crime.

The Moscow Police Department is asking for the public's help in finding the person or people who took the outside video.
